HTTP
The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application protocol for the internet.
HTTP works in conjunction with the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to establish a sequence of network request-response transactions called a session.
An HTTP Server will listen on a port, typically port 80, for a client's request message and respond with a status e.g. "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" and the requested resource, e.g. a web page.
